Recreating the 2015 Ken Block Livery: Final Result
And we’re done! Finally, this long project has come to an end. This is what the final result looks like:
I am very happy with it. There are always things that can be improved, particularly in a complex car like this. The brake discs – and the calibers – are the products of pure laziness and ineptitude, but altogether, the wheels turned out quite well. The 52 logo on the rear wheel is slightly misaligned, now that I think of it, but we’ll leave it at that. The logos could be much better, too; it’s always tricky to get them just right with GIMP; Inkscape and vector logos would have been the way to go but once again: laziness.
The highlights, on the other hand, are something I’m very happy with. It’s always to challenge create nice highlights but I reckon I pulled them off pretty nicely here. I really love how the lights turned out, too. If I had to grade this project, I’d give it an eight on a scale of one to ten.
Wait! I did say something about a background, didn’t I? Well, here goes:
There’s no prize in guessing that the surface of the “moon” is my own doing; I’m not experienced in making backgrounds! The stars are mine, also, but those are obviously very easy to create. The Earth photo I took from the web and edited it heavily to make it blend into the background.
Well, it’s been fun! Laters!
Congrats, mate! You did wonderful work!
Thank you for beautiful artwork, Joni.
Super work WTF !! Spacey 😛
