IMG DTM Fantasy Championship

As i have done in the past, Im going to run another Fantasy League but this time for the IMG members like we used to have over at Robsworkshop. Just some friendly competition among everyone

For the IMG Series, we will be using the DTM category as the cars are close and able to produce close racing that will certainly mix up the results throughout the season. To make it not all about chance, When signing up you will have the ability to be stronger in two of the following aspects for your driver. Consistency, Concentration, Wet Weather, Overtaking, Smoothness and Qualifying. This will enable you to be stronger in two aspects that could have a small bearing on how well you do throughout the season. Similarly, each of the cars will be stronger in a certain aspect compared
to the others. This will be listed next to the cars below on what they are stronger in.

When signing up you will have the ability to choose the car number attached to the certain livery as displayed below. The liveries are just something for cosmetic purposes and don't have anything to play with how you will go during the season. However, you can only choose a livery that is on the car that you choose, i.e. Audi livery with Audi Car, Not BMW livery with Audi Car. When choosing the livery just state the number and livery that is on the car. Liveries will be on a first come first serve basis. The #1 livery for the BMW will not be used during the first season as the #1 will be reserved for the season champion. If you would like to use the BMW and that livery then just state that with the number that you would like and i can edit that for you.

There will be nine rounds following same schedule as DTM with two races at each. Will be doing one or two rounds per week, so overall around a month of two to finish a season.

I'll give anyone else who wants to join a couple more days and then i will get the season started mid week

Round 1 of the championship headed to Hockenheim for the first of its two season visits. The start of the season seemed to be tough for some with first Practice session seeing kacinoman making a driving error and ending it in the sand and not taking part in most of the session. It was great for WTF however, as he was able to lead the field into the first qualifying session of the year after setting the fastest time ahead of oblongs. Qualifying seen a very early red flag with kacinoman still struggling with the car and once again beaching his Mercedes at turn 2. When qualifying got back underway, WTF got the fastest time down and was able to hold it taking out the first pole position of the year ahead of Quiksilver who nearly took the top spot in the closing stages. The 40 minute sprint race started the season with carnage with most of the cars having to pit for repairs in the early stages. This allowed WTF to dominate out in front in convincing fashion.



No issues for any drivers in the practice session for race 2 with MadRacer38 sitting on top with kacinoman getting comfortable in his Mercedes to take 2nd. Qualifying was different however with Knight_Rider being able to dominate the entire session and take the pole position with MadRacer38 right behind. Race 1 pole sitter and winner WTF struggled for pace in qualifying, finishing in P5 after the 20 minute session. The first 60 minute race of the season with a mandatory pitstop seen strategy mix the field early. MadRacer38 pitted 17 minutes into the race and used his undercut and clean air to punch out fastest laps, one after another. When the rest of the field started to play their strategy cards, MadRacer38 comfortably was out in front and able to hold on to take the win in race 2 and the championship lead. Knight_Rider finished in second with Quiksilver rounding out the podium.




Championship standings after the first two races of the season sees MadRacer38 in front on 40 points followed by double runner up Knight_Rider and race 1 winner WTF sitting close behind in third.



Next round of the season will be at the Red Bull Ring which will certainly be one to shake up the field.

I'm using an old Manager game that provides the ability to adjust the ai and make it so that it is even across everyone besides the chosen abilities for each user.

Round 2 of the championship headed to the wonderful Red Bull Ring for what turned out to be two polar opposite races of the season.

Practice for race 1 seen WTF taking the fastest time into qualifying but wasn't able to convert in the qualifying session, struggling to find the time he needed to put himself up near the pointing end. Knight_Rider however was able to get the time he needed to take his 2nd consecutive pole position of the season followed by kacinoman who had a strong session in P2. The first race of the weekend was very quiet with Knight_Rider able to skip away in front to take his first victory of the season followed by kacinoman with championship leader coming into the weekend, MadRacer38, rounding out the podium.



Now the craziness began straight away in practice for race 2. kacinoman and WTF getting together in the late stages ultimately ending their sessions early while Knight_Rider just pipped MadRacer38 for the top spot in practice. Qualifying seen Quiksilver also run into some issues with 10 minutes to go while sitting P1 which ended his session down in P6 with MadRacer38 just taking the top spot away in the dieing seconds from WTF to take his first pole position of the season. Lap 2 of the 60 mintue Race 2 was were it all kicked off with Knight_Rider and oblongs getting together, ultimately forcing oblongs to pit for damage and taking him out of what was a strong position early. While pitstops had taken place for most of the drivers, lap 27 seen potential race leader MadRacer38 and kacinoman get together which left MadRacer38 out of what was going to be a podium result. This let Knight_Rider after his early stop skip ahead and hold on with the older tyres to take the double victory for the weekend ahead of kacinoman who was charging hard with the fresher tyres at the end.



Championship standings now see's Knight_Rider take the overall lead with a solid gap ahead of MadRacer38 in p2 with kacinoman 1 point ahead of WTF in p3



Next round of the championship heads to the tight twisty EuroSpeedway Circuit for races 5 and 6 of the Championship.

Round 3 at the tight twisty EuroSpeedway turned out to be once again another exciting round of the championship.

oblongs was able to put his Audi at the top of the practice standings for race 1 but it was in qualifying that seen no Audi on the front row. Knight_Rider late in the session had an off which brought out a temporary red flag and leaved a one lap shootout to take pole but no one was able to come close to kacinoman's time that he had set earlier in the session and took pole position ahead of Quiksilver. The race seen lap 1 trouble for MadRacer38 and oblongs who came together with MadRacer38 suffering too much damage and retiring from the race. kacinoman led for majority of the race but it wasn't until the last couple of laps were Quiksilver was able to catch and pass the Mercedes driver to take his first victory of the season in the lone BMW.



The longer race 2 seen Quiksilver continue with his pace in practice and was able to punch out a lap in the last minute of qualifying to take pole position ahead once again of kacinoman. The start of Race 2 seen once again MadRacer38 having contact but this time with Knight_Rider, both were able to continue but WTF got caught up in the accident and had to retire with damage. MadRacer38 later had to retire from the damage sustained on lap 13 which left a 4 car battle for the lead. Quiksilver stuffed up his mandatory pitstop with stalling while leaving his box but he evidently didn't let it slow him down as he charged back through the field while Kacinoman struggled with his early pit strategy and beached his Mercedes on Lap 31 while battling for the last podium spot with Knight_Rider. Quiksilver however was able to cruise to victory, taking a clean sweep of the weekend and the entire race 2 proceedings.



Championship standings now sees Quiksilver move up into P2, only 16 points behind championship leader Knight_Rider after 6 races.



Next Round the championship will head to the short concrete jungle of Norisring
